Second Language Lexical Retrieval and Word Association

In this project, we aim to develop theory and models of second language lexical retrieval (in relation to speech production) and propose assessment tools that can measure the vocabulary knowledge and lexical retrieval efficiency.

Natural Language Processing and its application for SLA and SL teaching

In this project, we aim to develop tools and materials that can analyze a range of linguistic features (lexico-grammar) for second language assessment. We also attempt to provide user-friendly text analysis tools that can be used by researchers and practitioners.

Theme Analyzer (DEMO ver 0.1)

Theme Analyzer (demo) is a free web application that let users to identify Themes in their texts (as described in Systemic Functional Linguistics). According to Systemic Functional Linguistics, Theme is the first element of a clause, which serves as the "point of departure" of the message. Theme Analyzer parses user-input sentences using dependency parsing, and returns visual annotation as well as detailed grammatical information. 
Note that this application is still under development, and I recognize that there are still significant amount of bugs. Stay tuned for further development!

Multi-Word Units Profiler

 Multi-word units profiler is a free web application which allows users to identify, highlight, and get information about MWUs in user-input texts. See the following Youtube video for a simple demo.
